About The Event

Did you know that there is estimated to be more than 27.6 million people — adults and children — subjected to human trafficking around the world, including in the United States. According to the National Foster Youth Institute, 60% of human trafficking victims in the U.S. were involved in the foster care system at one time.

January is human trafficking awareness month and we invite you to join us, along with our facilitator Tracy McQueen from Assist Indiana & JoCo Human Trafficking Task Force, as we learn more about how to spot the signs.

We will be discussing the following:

  1. Define human trafficking
  2. Outline key components of the Actions, Mean & Purpose (AMP) model
  3. Identify youth populations most vulnerable to human trafficking
  4. List common red flags and risk factors for human trafficking
  5. Know what to do after identifying a suspected victim of trafficking or sexual exploitation (reporting)
  6. Explain ways in which ITVAP can support your agency/school/community
  7. The laws for youth and adults around HT

Childcare is limited. Sign up early!

*Certificates will be handed out at end of class.

Limited scholarships available for foster parents, please contact Renae: R.Furnee@resourcesofhope.org for more information.
